Reflections of Our Savior

April 2016

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

(1 Corinthians 15:12-19)

Dear Christians:

What do you have that others do not? What does your Christian faith give you that man-made religions cannot? You are a Christian, right? You have faith, right? But do you have certainty of “Life after Death”?

O.K. I’m asking a lot of questions. But sometimes, aren’t the answers swept aside in the flurry and activity of church work, life’s chores, and day-to-day challenges? I think so. At least it is for me.

What I mean is this: Our whole religion, our faith, the mission of our church, and our goal of life is----Life after Death. Eternal life is what it is all about. Heaven is more than just a fleeting wish. It is a sure and certain destination for those who trust in Christ alone: in his perfect life, in his innocent suffering and death, in his glorious resurrection----Life after Death.

We were reminded on Resurrection Day that Jesus rose from the dead. We were also reminded that because he lives, we also will live. We are assured that Jesus rose victorious over sin and death for us.

That is it. Short and sweet. Isn’t that the way it should be? Life after Death----it is yours through trust in the perfect life, innocent death, and physical resurrection of your Savior Jesus.

Need I say more?

This is your faith. This is your hope. This is your certainty. This is your future. Jesus guaranteed it. This is our Easter message. This is our Sunday message. This is our daily message. This is our life----Life after Death.

If anyone asks you about your religion, about what you believe, about what your church teaches, the answer is easy---we believe in Life after Death---in the Risen Christ.
